SafeGradeAI is operated by Safe Grade Labs, LLC (“SafeGradeAI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

We help families, schools, and organizations make more informed decisions about artificial intelligence. Protecting personal information is part of that responsibility.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with SafeGradeAI.

Information You Provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:

• Your name and email address
• Your organization, school, role, or job title
• Information included in a contact form, consultation request, certification application, or other submission
• Account information if you create an account
• Communications you send to us
• Your email and communication preferences
• Purchase and transaction details
• Information you choose to enter into an AI tool, quiz, assessment, or other interactive feature on our website

Please do not submit a child’s name, birth date, school records, health information, private communications, or other sensitive personal information through our forms or interactive tools.

Free Family AI Safety Course

To register for the Free 30-Minute Family AI Safety Course, a parent or other adult provides a name and email address.

Registration does not require:

• A child’s name
• A child’s birth date or age
• A child’s school
• Information about a child’s AI use
• Payment information
• A credit card
• A paid subscription

The course and included Family AI Safety Starter Pack are free. SafeGradeAI may separately offer optional paid resources, but no purchase is required to access or complete the free course.

Course registration is separate from subscription to SafeGradeAI’s Weekly AI Safety Alerts. Registering for the course does not automatically add a participant to Kit or to SafeGradeAI’s marketing email list. Visitors who want to receive Weekly AI Safety Alerts must subscribe separately through a clearly labeled Kit form and complete any confirmation required by Kit.

Purchases

If you purchase a product, membership, certification, or service, we and our payment service providers may collect information needed to complete and document the transaction.

SafeGradeAI does not directly receive or store complete payment-card numbers when payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Payment providers process that information under their own privacy policies and security practices.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit SafeGradeAI, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including:

• Internet Protocol address
• Browser and device type
• Operating system
• Referring page or source
• Pages viewed
• Links or buttons selected
• Dates and times of visits
• Approximate location derived from an IP address
• General website activity and performance information
• Email delivery, opening, and link-interaction information

We use this information to operate the website, understand which resources are useful, diagnose technical problems, measure outreach, and improve our services.

We do not use personal information submitted through course registration to create advertising profiles about children.

4. Email Communications and Marketing

When you separately subscribe to SafeGradeAI communications, we may use the information you provide to deliver Weekly AI Safety Alerts, educational guidance, information about new evaluations and resources, and occasional information about optional SafeGradeAI products or services.

Our forms explain what a person is agreeing to receive before submission.

SafeGradeAI emails may include:

• Weekly AI Safety Alerts
• Educational guidance for families or schools
• Information about new evaluations and resources
• Occasional information about optional SafeGradeAI products or services

Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time. Unsubscribing from promotional messages may not prevent us from sending necessary transactional messages, such as purchase receipts, account notices, or responses to your requests.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information.

We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We use companies that help us operate SafeGradeAI. These providers may support functions such as:

• Website hosting and infrastructure
• Database and account management
• Email registration, automation, and delivery
• Payment processing
• Website analytics
• Customer support
• Security, fraud prevention, and technical maintenance

These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us, subject to their agreements with SafeGradeAI and applicable law.

Kit

SafeGradeAI uses Kit, Inc., formerly known as ConvertKit, to collect and manage email subscriptions and send Weekly AI Safety Alerts and other emails requested through its clearly labeled forms.

For subscriber information, SafeGradeAI determines why and how the information is used, and Kit processes the information as our service provider. Kit’s Data Processing Addendum states that Kit will not sell or share subscriber personal information as those terms are defined under applicable privacy laws and will process subscriber information to provide its services to SafeGradeAI.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Comply with a law, regulation, court order, or lawful government request
• Protect the rights, safety, or property of SafeGradeAI, our users, or others
• Investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity
• Enforce our agreements and policies

Business Changes

If SafeGradeAI is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its business, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps to require the recipient to handle personal information consistently with this Privacy Policy.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you ask us to do so or give us permission.

6. Children’s Privacy

SafeGradeAI provides information and resources primarily for parents, educators, school leaders, AI companies, and other adults. SafeGradeAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

A child does not need to provide personal information for a parent or caregiver to use our free Family AI Safety Course or download its included materials.

Parents, educators, and other users should not enter a child’s personal information into SafeGradeAI forms, quizzes, analyzers, or other interactive features.

If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, contact us at support@safegradeai.com. We will investigate and take appropriate steps to delete the information.

7. Schools and Student Information

SafeGradeAI does not ask schools to provide student education records merely to access general evaluations, guidance, or public resources.

Unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise, schools should not submit:

• Student names or identification numbers
• Education records
• Individual student assessments
• Health or disability information
• Disciplinary information
• Private student communications
• Other personally identifiable student information

If a school or district considers using a SafeGradeAI service that requires the handling of student information, the privacy, security, and contractual requirements for that service should be reviewed separately before any student information is submitted.

SafeGradeAI’s public materials, evaluations, and certifications are not a substitute for a school’s own legal, privacy, security, accessibility, procurement, or instructional review.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide the requested service
• Maintain an active account or subscription
• Fulfill the purposes described in this policy
• Maintain appropriate business and transaction records
• Resolve disputes
• Enforce agreements
• Meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

If you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may retain limited information needed to document and honor your opt-out request. Information may also remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are replaced through routine processes.

You may request deletion of your personal information as described below. Some information may be retained when required or permitted by law.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

We also select service providers that maintain safeguards appropriate to the services they provide.

No website, database, email system, or method of internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. For that reason, we cannot promise absolute security.

If we become aware of a data security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notifications when required by applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Ask whether we hold personal information about you
• Request access to that information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of information
• Request a portable copy of certain information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Object to or request limits on certain uses of information
• Opt out of promotional emails
• Appeal the denial of an eligible privacy request
• Use an authorized agent to make a request where permitted by law

SafeGradeAI will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will use information provided for verification only to evaluate and respond to the request.

11. California Privacy Notice

California residents may have privacy rights under California law. Depending on whether the law applies to SafeGradeAI and the particular request, these may include rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and to receive information about how personal information is collected and disclosed.

SafeGradeAI does not sell personal information. SafeGradeAI also does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

You may submit a California privacy request by emailing support@safegradeai.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request.”

12. International Visitors

SafeGradeAI is based in the United States. If you access our services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or another country where our service providers operate.

Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we and our service providers use recognized safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

13. Third-Party Websites and Resources

SafeGradeAI contains links to AI tools, research, news organizations, schools, companies, payment providers, and other third-party websites.

This Privacy Policy applies only to SafeGradeAI. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or content practices of third parties. We encourage you to review a third party’s privacy policy before providing information to it.

A SafeGradeAI evaluation or certification of an AI product does not mean that SafeGradeAI operates that product or controls all of its data practices.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change.

When we update it, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
